Fujifilm Slashes X Half Price by $300: Whimsical Camera Now $549 in Limited-Time Deal
Breaking: Fujifilm X Half Gets Major Price Cut
Fujifilm has dramatically reduced the price of its unique X Half digital camera, dropping the MSRP from $850 to $649.99 and then adding an extra $100 discount through June 28th. The resulting price of $549 makes the camera accessible to a much wider audience.

The deal applies to the base configuration, available at major retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo, and Adorama. Adorama is sweetening the offer with a free accessory pack that includes a 64GB SanDisk SD card and a camera case.
Why This Camera Is Different
The X Half is not a typical digital camera. It is deliberately feature-light, designed to mimic the experience of a half-frame film camera. It captures 18-megapixel stills and offers film simulations, filters, grain effects, and digital diptychs with baked-in date stamps.
However, it lacks RAW image capture, a hot shoe for accessories, and an electronic viewfinder. As former Verge supervising producer Vjeran Pavic described it, the camera is “whimsical and refreshing,” ideal for “scrappy, quick photos.”
Background: A Camera Built for Fun
Launched last year, the X Half features a vertical 1-inch sensor and a fixed 32mm equivalent f/2.8 lens. It was created for point-and-shoot simplicity, prioritizing spontaneity over technical perfection.

Pavic and Verge writer Antonio Di Bennedeto both praised the camera’s charm but noted the original $850 price was a barrier. This new $300 reduction addresses that criticism head-on.
What This Means for Buyers
This price cut makes the X Half a compelling option for photographers seeking a creative, pocket-friendly camera without breaking the bank. At $549, it competes with premium compact cameras while offering a unique retro shooting experience.
If you missed out earlier due to cost, now is the time to act. The extra $100 off expires June 28th, and retailer stock may run out quickly.
